Turning Point is the youth ministry for Junior High and High School students at Theta Baptist Church.
Why do we call our ministry “Turning Point”? In our society, our youth are bombarded with the ways of the world which lead to destruction; however, at Turning Point, the youth are confronted with the Word of God, which leads to salvation. Therefore, Turning Point is where the truth of God meets real life.
We have two primary goals in Turning Point. First of all, we desire to see sinners come to Christ. Therefore, our ministry is a gospel-centered ministry, knowing that as Paul says in Romans 1:16, “The gospel…is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” The second goal is to train students to live lives for Christ in all areas of their life, whether at church, home, school, or anywhere. This is accomplished through the weekly exposition of the Word of God and life on life discipleship. As the youth ministry focuses on the Word of God, where all things are done as unto the Lord, we include games and activities where the youth have fun in a way that honors the Lord.

Our regular meeting times are:
Sunday School: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Wednesday: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Our classes are taught by our Youth Pastor, Vince Greer, and one of our elders, Clay Smith. We are currently going through the book of Deuteronomy on Sunday mornings and going through a series on the gospel on Wednesday nights.
